biography
He learned masonry, stone carving and stone conservation skills from Laurence Tindall whilst working with Nimbus Conservation, and has worked on many projects since then with Cliveden Conservation Workshops Ltd, and also with Tim Lees. Although largely self-taught, he started his letter carving education with an evening course at Bath College of Further Education. He studied on a Memorial Arts Charity course with Ieuan Rees in 2004. Iain has worked on many lettering and memorial commissions including work for Memorials by Artists. Since graduating he has continued to make sculpture and has exhibited widely. He lives with his wife and family in a small village south of Bath, and his workshop is on the site of an old mill on an organic farm nearby.
